A DOLBY surround sound audio system with 4-disc in-dash CD changer is standard in the SE grade Cross Country. This system features a built-in sound processor and a loudspeaker in the center of the dashboard (making a total of nine speakers). The system also includes an AM/FM stereo with 20 memory settings for each band and a cassette player. Control is via a combination of push buttons and dials as well as via the steering wheel. The head unit is also designed specifically for the Volvo interior, rather than being an obvious aftermarket fit.
