VOLVO Car Australia has deleted its V70 station wagon and introduced a lower-spec (SE) version of its V70-based XC70 all-wheel drive.
Priced from $56,950, the XC70 SE sits below the luxury car tax threshold and, owing in large part to Australia’s 4WD import tariff concessions, is $5000 cheaper than the outgoing and similarly specified two-wheel drive V70 SE.
Compared to the $64,450 XC70 LE, the SE model misses out on a sunroof, electric driver’s seat, heated front seats, reverse-parking radars, six-disc CD stacker and bi-xenon headlights.
2005 Volvo XC70 pricing: XC70 SE – $56,950
XC70 LE – $64,450
XC90 LE – $69,950 (seven seater)
XC90 T6 LE – $79,950 (seven seater)
