More power (up to 75kW, thanks to fuel injection) in the upper range summed up the LF update.
The entry-level SL gained the 67kW 1.6L carburettor engine while a sporty GS model appeared, powered by Toyota’s 85kW 1.8L twin-cam ‘4’.
Only the SL lacked the essential power steering and optional four-speed automatic.
By 1994 this series had started to date very quickly.
