HOLDEN'S Trax crossover saw its fresh-faced mid-life update arrive in February 2017 as part of the Red Lion's imported product line-up assault – which occurred in the wake of the local Commodore's demise.

Following the design lead of other General Motors (GM) products, revised styling for the front and rear of the small-SUV was introduced, which helped provide a visual differentiator over the preceding model.

A mid-range LT model grade was introduced, which meant the LTZ version pushed further upstream with its price-tag going over $30k, but it received heated synthetic leather front seats, blind-sport monitoring and rear-cross traffic alert for the extra cost.

Additionally, equipment levels increased across the range, including projection headlights with daytime-running lights and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Manual variants of the LS retained the former model's 1.8-litre atmo four-potter, but all other versions were powered by a 1.4-litre turbo unit, including the automatic LS.
