The original, angular Integra was spun-off the Mk3 Civic platform, but was built for a more sophisticated audience.
Although there were four-door sedan and five-door hatchback models available elsewhere, Honda Australia only imported the three-door hatchback, as a sporty, sub-Prelude, Celica-style coupe.
Featuring front-wheel drive, four-wheel disc brakes and fuel-injection, the Integra was powered by a 90kW 1.6-litre twin-cam 16-valve four-cylinder engine mated to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox.
Pop-up headlights, power steering, alloy wheels and a rear spoiler were standard.
A white-only Grand Prix model was available from September ’87.
