Isuzu introduced a second calendar-year update for its MU-X in May 2017, with the engine being the main beneficiary of the updates.
The 3.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel unit retained its 130kW power output, but received a 50Nm boost in torque to 430Nm.
A new six-speed automatic transmission replaced the old five-speed unit, while the six-speed manual gearbox was thoroughly reworked.
Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels were reduced thanks to an Australian-led push, while the interior received a much-needed lift in quality, too.
Exterior styling was subtly updated with a new front fascia and rear bumper. Bi-LED headlights, LED daytime daytime running lamps (DRLs) and LED tail-lights were also added.
