The fourth generation Lexus RX was released in November 2015, succeeding a vehicle that had done service for the brand since 2009.
Based on a modified Toyota Highlander/Kluger chassis, the RX saw the introduction of a turbocharged engine to the line-up for the first time, with the entry-level front-wheel-drive RX200t replacing the previous bottom-rung RX270.
The six-cylinder all-wheel-drive RX350 and RX450h hybrid models also scored updated engines and transmissions.
The 175kW/350Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine also served in the brand’s NX compact SUV and the IS sedan.
Standard equipment levels were high, but with the new model came price hikes of up to $11,000 across the range.
