These include clear tail-light lenses and blackened GWM badging, the tailgate lettering now reading ‘GWM’ where ‘Haval’ was previously placed. ‘H6’ and ‘4WD’ badges are also finished in matte black, while the ‘GT’ badge is now in red.
Inside, the H6 GT’s infotainment system gains ‘Intelligent Voice Control’ for handsfree operation. Pricing remains unchanged at $45,490 drive-away.
Ahead of the H6 GT PHEV’s arrival, GWM has introduced a $2000 early adopter discount for the Haval flagship, pricing it at $53,990 drive-away and throwing in a 7kW home charger valued at $499 for vehicle contracts written by March 31.
In addition, existing GWM owners are offered a further $3000 “trade-in bonus” against a new Haval H6 GT PHEV while those adding the model to their garage rather than trading in are offered an additional $1000 “loyalty bonus”.
Visually, GWM has dropped Sapphire Blue from the H6 GT’s colour palette, leaving choices that include Atlantis Blue, Burgundy Red, Crayon Grey, Golden Black, and Hamilton White. All hues bar Hamilton White attract a $495 surcharge.
The H6 GT continues to be motivated by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 150kW of power and 320Nm of torque. The unit is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
GWM claims the H6 GT PHEV offers up to 180km of all-electric driving range, thanks in part to a 35.4kWh lithium-ion battery, as well as 0-100km/h acceleration in a sprightly 4.9 seconds courtesy of the petrol-electric drivetrain’s 321kW/762Nm combined outputs.
GWM says its “sporty, coupe-style” H6 GT plays a “pivotal role in the range” with 3140 units sold YTD to the end of November. The figure means the H6 GT represents an impressive 8.1 per cent of GWM’s total sales volume in Australia.
