GWM Haval Jolion scores $2000 price cut

BY MATT BROGAN | 8th Nov 2024

GWM has extended its plate clearance offer on Haval Jolion models to offer a $2000 discount on selected petrol-powered models for a limited time.

In conjunction with the existing plate clearance offer, and available only to private buyers, the offer will remain in effect until the end of the calendar year, offering what GWM says is “even more value to drivers looking for an affordable, safe, and high-quality Small (segment) SUV”.

“With strong sales across the newly facelifted Jolion (range), we are pleased to offer this new and competitive retail offer that reinforces GWM’s commitment to delivering the best possible value to our customers,” said GWM head of marketing and communications Steve Maciver.

“As GWM moves towards another year of record-breaking sales, we expect this latest offer to help further solidify the brand’s top 10 position in Australia.”

Mr Maciver says GWM Haval Jolion sales have “eclipsed 11,000 units in 2024, marking a substantial 23.3 per cent increase over the previous year”. In the competitive Small SUV under $45K segment, the GWM Haval Jolion now places third with an 8.9 per cent share of the segment.

Locally, the GWM Haval Joilion rivals the likes of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, Hyundai Venue, Kia Stonic, Mitsubishi ASX, Nissan Juke, and Toyota Yaris Cross.

GWM updated its Jolion range earlier this year with the petrol-powered range seeing a reduction in the colour palette (Smoke Grey and Vivid Green discontinued), and the discontinuation of S and Ultra variants. Accordingly, the turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine is no longer available.

That means the Haval Jolion range is now powered exclusively by GWM’s 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine offering 105kW (down 5kW) and 210Nm of torque. Drive is to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with Combined cycle fuel consumption listed at 8.1 litres per 100km.

Visually, the facelifted Jolion petrol is identified by a new grille, reshaped front and rear bumpers, grey door mirror caps, and new-look tail-lights. Other improvements across the range include the addition of a four-way adjustable steering column and new ‘Jolion Pro’ tailgate badging.

Petrol models measure 4472mm in length, 1841mm in width, and 1574mm in height. Cargo space is listed at 337 litres with braked towing capacity at 1500kg.

Safety equipment is generous with adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking (with pedestrian and cyclist detection), blind spot monitoring, driver drowsiness detection, lane centring and lane keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, reversing camera and rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, traffic sign recognition, tyre pressure monitoring, and seven airbags all as standard.

Higher specification Lux (and above) grades add 360-degree camera technology.

All GWM Haval Jolion models are backed by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty. Capped price servicing is available for five years with service intervals set at 12 months / 10,000km initially and 12 months / 15,000km thereafter.
