Super TestCar reviews - Ford - Explorer - XLT V8 5-dr wagonFord modelsResearch Ford Brakes21 Mar 2002 THE Explorer uses ventilated disc brakes on the front and rear wheels. The system features three channel anti-lock to control the front wheels independently and the rear wheels in tandem during heavy braking, thus helping improve vehicle control in most operating conditions. In addition, the ABS with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) employs dynamic proportioning to achieve shorter stopping distances. It works by measuring braking force versus traction and allocating braking force to the wheels that have the best grip for stopping even before the ABS system kicks in. Did you know? The Explorer is longer overall than a Mitsubishi Pajero and only 50mm short of a Nissan Patrol. It is also wider than most Patrol modelsAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
