Now in its second Australian generation (fourth globally), Maserati is hoping the all-new version driven here will continue and exceed what its predecessor managed – but it will have to contend with serious competition from BMW’s 6 Series Gran Coupe, the Mercedes-Benz CLS and Porsche’s Panamera. A more affordable $240,000 twin-turbo V6 variant will arrive late next month, but until then Australia has just the top performing 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 GTS priced at $319,800 before on-road costs.
