Super TestCar reviews - Mercedes-Benz - GL-Class - 5-dr wagon rangeMercedes-Benz modelsResearch Mercedes-Benz OverviewMerc GL450 handles like a whale, redeemed by massive V8 grunt and spacious cabin28 Mar 2011 The gargantuan Mercedes-Benz GL was already available with a V6 diesel, but now there is an even more potent diesel option. Mercedes Australia has decided to import a GL with a twin-turbo V8 diesel aimed right at those who use the big SUV for towing. It is also likely to appeal to other customers who just enjoy acceleration thanks to its peak output of 225kW and 700Nm. Mercedes has also taken the opportunity to upgrade the V6 diesel that powers the GL350. It now generates a very handy 195kW and 620Nm. The changes come after Mercedes recently upgraded the design of the large wagon, which is available with seven seats, with a fresh face including the current automotive must-have, LED daytime running lights.
