The new Ferrari 488 GTB – the successor to the six-year-old 458 series – brought a turbocharged V8 to the berlinetta (coupe) body style for the first time in Australia in August 2015, along with a two-year waiting list.
A hotted-up version of the twin-turbo 3.9-litre V8 that powered the California T sportster was rated at 492kW and 760Nm, and pushed the 1475kg two-seater to 100km/h in three seconds flat, onto 200km/h in 8.3s and out to a top speed of 330km/h.
A three-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, along with seven years of free scheduled servicing, was offered with the 488.
