Future models - Jaguar - F-Type - ZP EditionJaguar farewells ICE sports cars with F-Type ZPF-Type ZP Edition the last petrol-powered Jaguar sports car, limited numbers in Oz next year11 Oct 2023 By MATT BROGAN JAGUAR has announced its final petrol-powered sports car in the form of the F-Type ZP Edition, the limited-edition variant confirmed as the last to receive an internal combustion engine before the British marque switches over to electric power in 2024.
Just 150 examples of the Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition – in coupe and convertible body styles – will be produced for global consumption with a handful earmarked to arrive in Australian dealerships in the first quarter of next year.
Jaguar Australia says 24 coupes (and no convertibles) will make their way to Australia, each priced from a hefty $373,547 plus on-road costs – making it the most expensive F-Type to ever be sold Down Under.
The Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition coupe and convertible are characterised by diamond-turned 20-inch forged alloy wheels with ‘ZP’ lettering, the moniker also appearing on the treadplates, dashboard, and an individually numbered plaque.
The ‘ZP’ name is a nod to Jaguar’s 1961 E-Type Project ZP, the first race-winning E-Type with which the F-Type ZP Edition shares paint colours. Like the E-Type, the special model is available in both Crystal Grey Gloss or Outlon Blue Gloss – 12 of each are confirmed for Australia.
Both duco options – which were curated by the team at SV Bespoke – are complemented by a Porcelain White hand-painted roundel on the doors, and matching grille frame.
Inside, Oulton Blue Gloss vehicles are upholstered in Mars Red and Ebony Black leather trim and Crystal Grey Gloss vehicles with Navy Blue and Ebony.
Up front, the Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition features the same supercharged 423kW/700Nm 5.0-litre V8 found powering the F-Type R and F-Type 75 Editions. All are mated with a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, benefiting the handsome coupe with a claimed 0-100km/h time of just 3.7 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 300km/h.
“As Jaguar embarks on the boldest transformation in its history, to become a modern luxury all-electric brand from 2025, this is an unrepeatable celebration of Jaguar’s internal combustion sports car provenance,” explained Jaguar managing director, Rawdon Glover.
“The F-Type has captivated sports car drivers for more than a decade, just as the E-type did five decades before it.
“The ZP Edition is the ultimate celebration of that lineage, joining an illustrious roster of heritage-inspired collector’s editions including the 2015 Project 7 and 2020 Heritage 60 Edition.”
