Mini EV program to cost 500 US motorists more than $A16,000 a year25 Nov 2008 By TERRY MARTIN BMW announced at Los Angeles auto show last week that the leasing rate for its electric Mini would be $US850 ($A1350) per month. As GoAuto reported last month, 500 versions of the so-called ‘Mini E’ will soon be made available to private and corporate customers across California, New York and New Jersey. The lease will run for at least 12 months, with an extension plan available. The rate covers servicing costs, which will be undertaken at one of eight selected dealerships, and other costs including special insurance for the vehicle. There are no plans to bring the evaluation vehicle to Australia, but it will be considered should the Mini E become available as a series production car. Read more:Watt Mini is E |
