Mercedes-AMG introduced its first-ever E43 in March 2017, with expectations that it would out-sell its E63 big brother in the long-term.
Packing a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine which produced 295kW of power and 520Nm of torque, the sports sedan launched from zero to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds.
Based on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and its engine-sharing E400 variant, the E43 carried over equipment levels but added an AMG bodykit and interior flourishes.
A sports exhaust and nine-speed automatic transmission was also included, while the junior AMG was available from $159,990 before on-road costs.
