2013 Chicago Auto ShowThe Windy City is gearing up for some fresh new metal in 201318 Feb 2013 By TIM NICHOLSON in CHICAGO It might not be as big as the recent Detroit show, but this year’s Chicago show still had a few surprises. One of the more exciting concepts at Chicago this year was Kia’s futuristic Cross GT, a luxury SUV that was designed in North America. While there are no plans for the Cross GT to go into production at this stage, the concept gives a look at the “future of the brand’s premium aesthetic.” Kia also revealed the production version of the Forte hatch that will go on sale in Australia as the all-new Cerato. Expect to see the Australian-spec version on display at the Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne this July. 19/12/2012 CHICAGO Auto Show celebrates its 105th year in 2013, making it the longest running auto show in North America. Expect a number of new concepts and new model reveals at Chicago as it follows up from the massive Detroit show in January. Car-makers frequently use Chicago to spring models that would otherwise be buried in the avalanche of new metal at Detroit a month earlier. Kia will show its aggressively-styled Cross GT SUV concept. It points to a return of the Korean car-maker to the full-size SUV segment. Keep an eye on GoAuto as we will be bringing you live coverage throughout the show.
