Now in its 80th year, the Swiss event for 2010 was an important launching block for many manufacturers, hence the appearance of the Alfa Giulietta, Audi A1 and RS5, BMW F10 5 Series, Ford C-Max and Grand C-Max, Aston Martin Cygnet (a Toyota iQ clone), Dacia Duster, Kia Sportage, Lexus CT200h, Mazda5/Premacy, Mini Countryman, Mitsubishi ASX, Nissan K13 Micra, Nissan Juke, Nissan Qashqai, GM Opel Meriva, Porsche Cayenne, Renault Megane CC and Wind drop-tops, VW’s Touareg, Sharan and Polo GTI, Volvo S60, and Lotus Elise facelift.
Standout concepts included Alfa Romeo’s 2uettottanta by Pininfarina and Pandion by Bertone, Audi A1 E-Tron, Citroën DS High Rider, Hyundai i-flow diesel-electric hybrid, Mercedes-Benz F800, Opel Flextreme GT/E, Peugeot’s SR1 and ‘5’, and the Porsche 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid. Malaysia’s Proton also debuted the Concept Car by Italdesign.
