Geneva show: Lexus shows flare with LF-SA concept

What now: Lexus designers have stretched the company’s corporate grille another notch with the LF-SA concept.

Mystery Lexus concept keeps the pundits guessing ahead of Geneva motor show

LEXUS is keeping the concepts coming with an aggressive-looking beastie called LF-SA due at next month’s Geneva motor show.

This lone teaser image accidentally escaped from the European division of Toyota’s luxury brand but was quickly followed up with the official version from Lexus outposts around the world.

While the mystery car from the ‘Lexus Finesse’ studios has many of the trademark styling cues of modern Lexus models, including the gaping black spindle grille and boomerang-shaped LED daytime driving lights, the point of difference is what appears to be a flared shape around the front wheels.

As always, the Japanese manufacturer is saying little ahead of the formal unveiling on March 3, apart from the usual design gobbledegook: “The new concept reflects Lexus’s passion for new design trends and explores unexpected territories for the brand.

“The LF-SA has been conceived as a luxurious, driver-focused vehicle, designed to address a future world that is more influenced by technology and virtual experiences.”

Speculation ranges from a BMW X4 SUV-coupe competitor to a CT200h replacement.

One thing is for sure, Lexus concepts usually end up in production in a toned-down form at some point.
