It has been a big week leading up to the 2018 Geneva motor show, with a whole bunch of exciting new models already outed ahead of the official event opening.

As we expected, there's been a big focus on SUVs this year, with fresh models already revealed including the BMW X4, Mercedes-AMG G63, Mitsubishi Outlander Phev and the Lexus UX to name a few.

EVs are also hot tickets this year, with Hyundai revealing its all-electric Kona and Jaguar uncovering its Tesla-rivaling I-Pace.

Fortunately, the performance segment has been far from ignored with a stack of sportscars revealed including the new Porsche GT3 RS, the Ferrari Pista and the special edition McLaren Senna.

The biggest event on the automotive calendar, the 2018 Geneva show, will surely uncover some new and exciting wares from all aspects of the motoring umbrella.

Last year's event brought a lot to the table - too much to name - but some notable unveilings included the exotic Ferrari 812 Superfast, Lamborghini's Huracan Performante and the McLaren 720S. Porsche also had a strong presence, revealing its range-topping Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, first-gen Panamera Sport Turismo, and its upgraded 911 GT3.

All-new model reveals included the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Alpine A110, Range Rover Velar and the Volkswagen Arteon.

There's no doubt that this year's event will also showcase plenty of interesting kit, so stay tuned to GoAuto.com.au for everything you need to know leading up to the Geneva show.
