2008 New York International Auto Show

Bright spark: Toyota subsidiary Scion showed its luminous Hako concept in all its boxy splendour in New York.

21 Mar 2008

By BYRON MATHIOUDAKIS in NEW YORK

A quiet show, with mostly US regional releases of American, Asian and European models seen elsewhere, the NY show did include the production release of the Dodge Challenger, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, and RWD Nissan Maxima, while the Kia Koup concept, Suzuki Kizashi 3 concpet and the Saleen S5S Raptor also made their presence felt.

Sadly the soon-to-die Pontiac showed two Australian built Holdens that never really made it – the G8 GXP (VE Commodore) and G8 Sport Truck (VE Ute).
