2015 New York International Auto ShowNew York's bigggest motoring event gets underway as the weather begins to warm17 Nov 2014 By TUNG NGUYEN in NEW YORK Show Dates: 1 April 2015 - 12 April 2015 17/04/15This year's New York auto show was full of big reveals and plenty of surprises. A crowd favourite was the Subaru BRZ STI Performance Concept, an absolutely bonkers looking sports coupe that addresses the BRZ's biggest criticism by stuffing a turbocharged motor for added power. Honda also surprised by previewing the styling of its tenth-generation Civic with a brightly coloured and boldly designed Civic Concept. Lexus showed off its new RX SUV, building on the styling introduced in its NX sibling last year, featuring a large spindle grille, updated headlights and a unique rear quarter window. Nissan revealed its eighth-generation Maxima, with an aggressive new look and prominent V-Motion front grille, with a chance the new stylish sedan could see its way Down Under. Now that the curtain has drawn on another New York show, the spotlight is turned towards China for Auto Shanghai at the end of the month. As always, keep it on GoAuto for all the latest automotive coverage. 01/04/15BRITAIN'S finest have chosen the New York International Auto Show to showcase their latest wares amongst the fresh metal on display from America, Europe, Japan and Korea. McLaren has unveiled its 570S, an entry level supercar for the Woking-based brand that is set to go toe-to-toe with Porsche's 911 Turbo, Audi's new R8 and Mercedes' upcoming AMG GT S. Jaguar has detailed its new XF, trumpeting updated technology and evolved styling for its new mid-size sedan, due for Australian release in early 2016. Land Rover has also shown its cards with its supercharged V6-powered Range Rover Sport HST and its most-powerful car to date, the 405kW/680Nm supercharged V8-powered Range Rover SVAutobiography. British marques with Big Apple reveals include Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce, along with announcements from Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen and more. Jaguar first teased its all-new XF mid-sized sedan before giving it a full unveiling, suspending it on a high-wire above the river Thames in London. Kia will be there with its next-generation Optima sedan, hinting at a bold, new coupe-like design with a myriad of new powertrain options potentially coming to Australia. Lexus has teased its next RX, revealing very little about the large SUV, but the one darkened image the car-maker has released shows a radical shift in design. Expect a lot more news to come out from the show floor as New York edges closer and, as always, keep an eye on GoAuto for all the latest. 17/11/14The 2015 New York International Auto Show represents the premiere East Coast motoring event in North America. Usually held around the Easter period in Spring when the weather starts to heat up, and the cars on show do nothing to bring the temperature down. The 2014 show had the world salivating as New York played host to the stunning Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible, Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Edition, BMW M4 Convertible, all world debuts.
