Citroen C5 more than $5000 cheaper
Lower price and driveaway deal slash entry level for Citroen C5 mid-size sedan
2 May 2012
CITROEN has effectively slashed more than $5000 from the price of its turbocharged Citroen C5 Attraction less than three months after it was released in Australia, introducing a driveaway price of just $32,990 for a limited time.
This represents a saving of $3000 on the retail price, plus at least another $2000 in on-road costs.
There is no change to the price of the diesel-engined C5 Attraction HDi, which remains at $37,990 plus on-road costs.
Less than two years ago, the entry level for the C5 range was $49,990 plus ORCs.
The Attraction specification was introduced in February as a new entry level for the French car maker’s mid-size sedan and was priced $3500 below the Seduction level that previously led the C5 line-up.
It comes with a six-speed automatic gearbox, 17-inch alloy wheels, auto-dimming interior mirror, automatic headlights and wipers, cruise control with speed-limiter, Bluetooth connectivity and climate-control air-conditioning.
Powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine co-developed with BMW, producing 115kW of power and 240Nm of torque, the C5 Attraction Turbo will accelerate from 0-100km/h in 9.5 seconds and returns a combined fuel figure of 7.7L/100 km.
“The new turbo-petrol engine maintains the C5’s reputation for advanced technology and the new driveaway price builds on its value-for-money reputation,” said Citroen Australia general manager Miles Williams.
“The Citroen C5 almost seems to have been designed for Australia’s long distances and demanding roads with the economical engines, spacious interior and comfortable, luxurious ride quality, and now the new driveaway price means that the C5 is also designed for Australian motorists looking for the best deal.”
