New Porsche Panamera duo most powerful yet

Turbo S E-Hybrid and GTS variants set new benchmark for Porsche Panamera performance

NEW-GENERATION Turbo S E-Hybrid and GTS variants have become the most powerful hybrid and non-hybrid Porsche Panamera variants to date.

Priced from $486,100 and $340,600 plus on-road costs respectively, the hard-charging pair are due in Australian showrooms later this year, with the former to become the most expensive Panamera variant to be offered Down Under to date.

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is powered by Porsche’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine (441kW) with an electric motor (140kW) integrated as part of the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Total system output is listed at 575kW (+75kW) and 1000Nm (+150Nm).

The variant can accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds (-0.5 seconds) on its way to a top speed of 325km/h (+25km/h).

Battery power comes from a 29.5kWh (gross) pack that offers up to 92km (NEDC) of all-electric driving range. The unit may be recharged from 0-100 per cent in two hours and 39 minutes via an 11kW AC charger.

Equipment highlights include 21-inch centre-lock alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, Active Ride suspension, adaptive cruise control, Bose premium audio with DAB+ digital radio reception, HD Matrix LED headlights, head-up display, panoramic glass sunroof, Porsche Ceramic Carbon Composite brakes (440mm diameter), privacy glass, quad-zone climate control, rear-wheel steering, soft-close doors, surround-view camera system, Turbonite garnishing inside and out, ventilated front seats, and more.

For the Panamera GTS we again find Porsche’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine under the bonnet, this time producing 368kW (+15kW) and 660Nm. It can accelerate from standstill to triple digits in 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 302km/h.

An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission is once more the only option.

Porsche equips the Panamera GTS with a sports exhaust system it says is “specifically developed to create a powerful, emotional soundscape”, dual-chamber lowered sport suspension (-10mm), reinforced anti-roll bars, and an electronically controlled differential lock.

Equipment highlights include 21-inch Turbo S alloy wheels in Anthracite Grey, adaptive sport seats with 18-way adjustment, Bose premium sound, darkened badges and HD Matrix LED headlights, Race-Tex upholstery, red-painted brake callipers, and standard Sport and Sport Chrono packages.

Initial Australian customer deliveries are expected to begin later this year.

This is an agreement between GoAutoMedia Pty Limited ACN 094 732 457 of PO Box 18, Beach Road, Sandringham, VIC, 3191 (“we/us”), the owner and operator of the GoAuto.com.au website (“the website”) and the person wanting GoAuto.com.au to provide them with a lead for the purchase of a new car (“you”).

By completing a New Car Lead Enquiry, you agree to the terms and conditions and disclaimers and acknowledge the policies set out below.

Terms and Conditions

In order for us to effect a lead you must you must complete a New Car Lead Enquiry (“Enquiry”).
We will call you as soon as possible after you complete the Enquiry and certainly no later than the next business day. When we call, we will discuss with you your new car requirements.
You consent to our passing on the Enquiry and your requirements to an appropriate authorised motor car dealer as a lead.
We will contact you again in approximately eight days following your initial enquiry to check on the progress of the Enquiry.
While we will provide the dealer with the Enquiry and details of your new car requirements, we take no responsibility for what happens after passing on that material as a lead.
You acknowledge that we are a new car information service providing new car editorial information, pictures and prices to our customers as a guide only. Any new car prices published on the website are the manufacturers’ recommended retail prices and do not include delivery charges and on-road costs.
