Connected services app coming for GWM Tank 500

Soon-to-debut GWM Tank 500 to arrive with compatible ‘Care 777’ smartphone application

10 Mar 2024

GWM is set to launch both its Tank 500 and associated Care 777 connected services app in Australian within weeks.

The smartphone application arrives alongside an expanded roadside assistance and capped-price servicing program for selected models.

GWM says the smartphone application will allow owners the ability to open and close the vehicle’s windows and sunroof remotely, and to check the status of and/or operate the vehicle’s locking system, climate control, heated and ventilation seats, lights, horn, and fuel level.

Owners will also be able to track the vehicle’s position via a built-in E-Fence mode.

Further, and in offering what GWM Australia says is a “strategy to support new, higher-priced models”, the Chinese brand will shortly introduce its Care 777 package combining a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty with seven years’ roadside assistance and seven-year capped-price servicing scheme.

Care 777 will debut with the arrival of the Tank 500 and be offered retroactively on the smaller Tank 300 off-roader.

“The addition of GWM Care 777 will provide further assurance for potential new GWM buyers and strengthen the brand's competitive market position in relation to maintenance cost,” said GWM Australia in a statement.

“It is expected that this initiative will also help drive GWM residual values and repurchase opportunities for the brand while continuing to drive further interest in the GWM range of hybrid vehicles.”

GWM Australia says there is no change to the current GWM Care aftersales package offered on other models which will continue to be supported by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty with five years’ roadside assistance and five-year capped-price servicing scheme.
