His replacement is Koichi Yoda, who will move to Melbourne from Isuzu Motors headquarters in Japan once arrangements are finalised. Although Mr Murata’s new position became effective on April 1, he said he did not anticipate leaving Australia until late May or early June. Announcing his departure in a letter to Isuzu Truck dealer principals, Mr Murata said: “I have very much enjoyed my eight years at the helm of I-GM (Isuzu-General Motors)/IAL and the friendships and associations I have made. “The passion and professionalism of the Isuzu Truck dealer network is second to none and it is no wonder that, in Australia, Isuzu Trucks have been ‘the one’ for 23 years running. “I have no doubt that the success of Isuzu Trucks will continue under Yoda-san, and I look forward to hearing of Isuzu Trucks achieving 25 years and more as Number One.” Among Mr Yoda’s responsibilities in recent years was acting as Isuzu Motors’ representative in a joint venture with General Motors in Colombia, South America. He also served as chief financial officer for Isuzu Motors America, based in California. |
