When "Turbo" is not enough

Moniker: Bruce's Porsche 911 coupe, yesterday.

Now Porsche owners can make their 911, Boxster/Cayman or Cayenne even more unique

17 Nov 2006

IF your Porsche isn’t exclusive enough, there is a company out there that can make it just that wee bit more exclusive.

In a ‘why hasn’t that been done before’ moment, nameyourporsche.com is pandering to the monied folk around the world with an own offer of customised names in the same font as the usual "Porsche" badge.

As the photo shows, instead of "Carrera" you can replace it with "Bruce", or even "thanks daddy".

The specialised names can be ordered on-line in five different languages and are cut from solid aluminium and then finished in three layers of paint. The back is coated with the same bonding agent used by car-makers to adhere badges to body panels.

Texts can be made for all 911 models - Cayenne, Boxster and Cayman - and importantly, if you sell the car the text can be removed and replaced with the car’s name.

Any conceivable name can be made to order... from Marty to Malcolm or from Terry to Tezza.

The company claims there are no limits to your imagination.

And the cost? For five letters in the original colours of grey or black the cost is $A587. Extra letters cost $A78 each. A chrome or gold name or text costs an additional or $A117.
