Camry delivers export record for Toyota

TOYOTA Australia exported 10,699 cars last month, claiming an all-time record for Australian motor vehicle exports by any brand in a single month.

The company expects to retain its position as the top Aussie exporter this year, with a forecast shipping of around 80,000 cars.

Last year, Toyota Oz exported 68,989 vehicles – the majority of which were left-hand drive Camrys to the Middle East – for a new industry export record.

Its previous best monthly export result was 8261 in October 2001. Many of the Camrys delivered to the Middle East are used for taxis.
