News - Toyota - FJ CruiserToyota accessorise FJ CruiserRetro-styled Toyota FJ Cruiser gets optional “Lifestyle Packs"9 May 2011 TOYOTA is now selling three accessory packages – or “Lifestyle Packs” in the company lingo – for its rough and ready FJ Cruiser off-roader. The ‘Protector Pack’ gives owners a Toyota Genuine all-weather rubber cargo mat, door handle paint protection, rubber floor mats and neoprene front “vest” seat covers. Ticking the box on the ‘Action Pack’ will bring roof racks, a bike carrier, an alloy nudge bar and rock rails that protect the underside of the vehicle from off-road damage. Finally, the ‘Trekking Pack’ provides roof racks, a roof pod storage device, rock rails and a towball and towbar kit that increases the braked towing capacity to 2250kg (750kg unbraked). A trailer wiring harness kit is sold separately. The recommended retail price for the Protector pack is $396, the Action Pack is $1114 (plus roof racks, sold separately) and the Trekking Pack is $1990. All FJ Cruiser accessories can still be purchased individually for those who do not want the packages. Other available accessories include a kayak cradle and ski holders. Toyota Australia sells the FJ Cruiser as a single model powered by a 4.0-litre petrol V6 mated to a five-speed automatic. The retro-style Prado-based SUV – which is built by Toyota’s truck subsidiary Hino – is priced from $44,990. Toyota shifted 152 FJs in April – the vehicle’s first full month on sale – bringing the total to 361 since it arrived in showrooms in mid-March. This puts it on target to easily eclipse the 2011 sales target of 900 units that Toyota Australia sales and marketing chief David Buttner said the company was aiming for at the car’s launch in early March.
