Volvo Car Australia names Annlyn Motors in Penrith as 2011 Dealer of the Year

19 Mar 2012

VOLVO Car Australia has named family-owned Annlyn Motors in Penrith, NSW, as its 2011 Dealer of the Year.

The main DOTY award and other category winners were presented at a special event at the Auckland Museum in New Zealand during this month’s stopover for the international Volvo Ocean Race.

Dignitaries at the event included Volvo Car Corporation senior vice-president and chief financial officer Jan Gurander, Volvo Car Australia managing director Matt Braid and Volvo Cars ambassador and Australian athletics champion Matt Shirvington.

Annlyn Motors dealer principal John Dunn described the long-serving Volvo dealership’s second overall DOTY award – it previously won in 2004 – and its naming as the Swedish brand’s 2011 Aftersales DOTY as “a bit of a shock, really”.

“To achieve such a prestigious award doesn’t come easily and requires hard work and commitment from the entire team,” he said.

“We have a fantastic team at Annlyn Motors that understand the principles of the business, and are enthusiastic about the Volvo brand.

“It’s all about the customers – repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals are the cornerstone of our business. It’s why we try so hard to ensure every customer has a great purchase experience.”

Other winners announced on the night included Allan McKay Autos from Moss Vale, NSW, picking up awards for the Highest PMA Market Share and Volvo Car Insurance categories, while Bilia Volvo in Hawthorn, Victoria, took out the Highest Retail Volume award.

Volvo said its overall DOTY award “recognises a dealership that has consistently achieved the highest of standards” across 13 key criteria spanning customer service, professionalism and all-round performance.

Mr Braid described Annlyn Motors’ DOTY win as “a great achievement” and one that showed “true dedication and determination”.

“The award signifies a commitment to excellence in all areas of the business and, of course, an unwavering commitment to the brand,” he said.

“Annlyn Motors has once again demonstrated its dedicated approach to customers, staff and Volvo Cars.”
