A sleeker nose, new hatch lid, more features and better crashworthiness distinguished the facelifted ML Barina.
But the big change was a new coil spring rear suspension.
It vastly improved the ride compared to its predecessor’s old-fashioned leaf-spring set-up. Air-con and power steering were available, while a clock, radio-cassette player and cloth trim were standard equipment.
A 3-speed auto became an option from April ’87.
