In September 2016 Holden introduced the facelifted Colorado, bringing with it an all-new front-end look, redesigned interior, better driveability, and noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) improvements.

The whole nose cone – headlights, grille, bumpers, and bonnet – was changed, while the cabin gained a complete dashboard overhaul, with noticeably higher-quality materials, updated door trims, restyled instruments, better padded front seats, a fresh multimedia system, and the inclusion of available driver-assist safety systems. A reverse camera was standardised on all Pickup variants.

This time around, Holden’s engineers were consulted from the outset, with an emphasis on improving ride quality, vehicle control, and refinement.

Among the changes was a switch to electric power steering, revisions to the suspension, new chassis controls with hill-descent control, retuned traction and stability systems, and revised mounts for the body, engine, and transmission designed to quell NVH.

While on the Colorado’s 2.8-litre four-cylinder common-rail direct-injection VM Motori turbo-diesel delivered the same power and torque outputs as before it gained a Euro-V emissions rating, and was substantially quieter.
