Tesla introduced its all-electric Model X SUV during the latter stages of 2016, which helped expand the EV-maker's local offerings from one (Model S) to two.

Outputs from the dual-motor set-up ranged from 245kW/525Nm (60D) to 397kW/967Nm (P90D with Ludicrous mode), with power put to the ground via an all-wheel-drive system. Anywhere between 335km and 467km could be covered on a single charge, depending on specification level.

It was available in either five-, six- or seven-seat configurations, and was paired with signature Falcon Wing doors that opened just above the roofline.

A vertically mounted 17-inch touchscreen infotainment came in replace of a traditional centre stack, while the list of standard equipment was suitably length for the cost.
