Daihatsu CharadeG200B Charade1 May 1996 By CHRIS HARRIS A bolder, curvier nose, better seats, more standard features, upgraded trim and a revised model range heralded the G200 series facelift. A five-door CE joined the G200B 38kW 3.0L TE three-door, the G202B 62kW 1.3L was reserved solely for the TS three-door, while CS now marched upmarket with the sedan’s 66kW 1.5L engine, and was dubbed G203B. Only the Di sedan survived, while the limited run 1997 F2 (also known as the TSR) G203B three-door included anti-lock brakes, a CD player and power windows. To make room for the three-cylinder Sirion range, Daihatsu pared down the Charade range in May 1998 to just the TS 1.5 three-door and CS 1.5 five-door (G203C), but sales faded fast as newer models stole the limelight. The Charade name went into a three-year hiatus from mid-2000, only to return in a smaller (Kei) model from July 2003. Read more7th of May 2003 Daihatsu 1993 Charade TE 1.0 3-dr hatch |
