Volkswagen Up!Up1 Oct 2012 Volkswagen launched its Up sub-light car in October 2012 with a competitive starting price and a quirky design that set it apart from its competitors. Available in just one trim level, the Up came in three and five-door bodystyles and was powered by a 55kW 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Standard features on the Up included air-conditioning, electric front windows and door mirrors, an MP3-compatible six-speaker CD audio system with auxiliary input, height-adjustable steering, 14-inch steel wheels and a full-size spare. The zero to 100km/h sprint in the tiny Volkswagen took 13.2 seconds and fuel consumption in the Up was 4.9 litres per 100 kilometres. Read moreWhen it was new |
