HOLDEN COMMODORE S 4D SEDAN (1994)
HOLDEN's VR-series S model is based on the Executive with the addition of alloy wheels, stripes, aero kit and cruise control. It uses the standard Commodore 3.8-litre V6 engine. Standard features include a central locking system and alarm, electric mirrors, radio/cassette and power steering.
BMW 5 4D SEDAN (1988-1996)
POWERED by possibly the best in-line six-cylinder engine in the world, the BMW E34 is special. Rear-wheel drive with option of four-speed auto or five-speed manual. Smooth as silk with immaculate road manners and quality finish. ABS, air-conditioning, central locking and power steering and windows are included.
PEUGEOT 405 Mi16 4D SEDAN (1993-1996)
NOT a six - in fact a mere 2.0-litre, twin cam, 16-valve four from 1993 - but with sporty performance. A five-speed manual only gearbox, driving the front wheels, the Pug's ride, handling and braking are typically high-calibre. Equipment includes ABS, air-conditioning, alloy wheels and central locking.
SAAB 9000 4D SEDAN (1991-1992)
THIS Swedish sedan offers serious performance and superb road manners. The twin cam, 16-valve engine is very powerful and available only with auto, driving the front wheels. The standard equipment list includes climate control, electric sunroof, trip computer and traction control. Servicing can be costly though.
