Chery opens Stockman ute reservations

Stockman diesel hybrid ute order books open, online reservations qualify for pre-launch incentives

1 Oct 2026

CHERY Australia has opened official reservations for its upcoming Stockman diesel hybrid ute, giving customers a chance to lock in their place ahead of the model's official on-sale date, with first deliveries confirmed for February 1, 2027.

From October 1, 2026 until the Stockman officially goes on sale, anyone placing a reservation online will qualify for a pre-launch incentive package comprising a $2000 Bunnings gift card and three years/45,000km of complimentary scheduled servicing.

The Bunnings tie-up comes via what Chery describes as an exclusive partnership between the two brands, pitched as a natural fit given the Stockman's positioning as a versatile dual-cab ute built for work, weekends and everyday adventures.

“Opening reservations for the Stockman marks an important milestone for Chery in Australia,” said Chery Australia chief operating officer Lucas Harris.

“We have had a phenomenal response to the Stockman since the first announcement, and the reservation program gives customers the opportunity to secure their place ahead of the official sales launch, while also receiving a valuable pre-launch offer.”

Pricing and full local specifications are still under wraps, with Chery saying further detail and an official launch date will come closer to the Stockman's showroom arrival.

Previously referred to internally by its “KP31” codename, the Stockman uses a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel plug-in hybrid powertrain producing a combined 350kW and 800Nm.

Battery capacity has not been confirmed, though Chery claims up to 100km of electric-only range on the more generous NEDC cycle, alongside a 3500kg braked towing capacity in line with established rivals in the dual-cab segment.

At 5450mm long, 2010mm wide and 1890mm tall, the Stockman is a genuinely large ute even by the segment’s growing standards.

Off-road hardware will include three differential locks, all-terrain tyres, crawl control and a tight-turn assist function, while previously confirmed equipment includes a head-up display, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, and a premium audio system.

The Stockman marks Chery’s entry into Australia’s highly competitive dual-cab ute segment, broadening the brand’s local line-up as it continues to expand its presence here.
