Daewoo reveals two S3X diesels

Oil-burner: To be known as Captiva in some countries, S3X concept will be powered by two new diesel engines, with Holden tipped to offer the hi-po 110kW/310Nm version.

GM Daewoo reveals two new diesels for S3X concept, due in Holden showrooms in 2006

5 Dec 2005

GM DAEWOO will produce both standard and high-performance versions of the new 2.0-litre four-valve SOHC turbo-diesel engine that will debut in the S3X concept-based "Captiva" large 4WD next year.

Still to be confirmed (but a likely starter) for Holden's version of the S3X due on sale in Australia next year, the Euro4-compliant common-rail diesel engine will be offered in fixed geometry turbo (FGT) form, developing 88kW at 4000rpm and 280Nm at 2000rpm, and in higher-performing variable geometry turbo (VGT) guise, turning out 110kW at 4000rpm and 310Nm at 2000rpm.

It will be built at a new powertrain plant in Gunsan, South Korea.
