Future models - Jaguar - XFFirst look: Fuore reveals its Jaguar conceptThere has never been a Jaguar that looked like this - meet the Formula XF 105 May 2003 By BRUCE NEWTON THIS wild looking two-seater is like no Jaguar you've ever seen before. It's called the Formula XF 10 and somewhere under there we are assured there are Jaguar mechanicals - but which ones we are not sure. Over the top has been draped a body styled by Barcelona-based Fuore Design International. That's the same company that played a key role in the development of Subaru's B11S four-door concept coupe that debuted at the Geneva motor show in March. The X in the name is a tribute to Jaguar's 1950s two-seaters, the F refers to Formula One and the 10 is a reference to the V10 engine which powers the car and is the common engine configuration in F1. But the engine in the XF 10 is a rather large 7.0 litres, pumping out 480kW, with a claimed 0-100km/h dash time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed in excess of 330km/h. The XF10 is 4.55 metres long, 1.98 metres wide and only 1210mm high. The total package weighs in at 1350kg. Fuore boss Erwin Himmel said: "The technical nature of Formula One had to find clear expression in the form of the car and be accentuated through unmistakable performance. Also, performance that builds on a history of success is much more credible. "It is a virtue that also implies the highest demands on safety. With the XF 10 we have designed ourselves a dream car."
