Future models - Porsche - Panamera - HybridPorsche reveals electric sedanPorsche reveals details and first images of Panamera and its hybrid drive system25 Jan 2008 PORSCHE has revealed details and images of the petrol-electric version of its four-door Panamera coupe, which has been confirmed for launch following the global release of conventional-engined variants in 2009. Porsche says the same full parallel hybrid drive technology that powers the Cayenne Hybrid, which will be launched first at the end of this decade, will also motivate the Panamera Hybrid. Porsche has claimed the Cayenne Hybrid will deliver average fuel consumption of less than 9L/100kmAustralia. The hybrid drive version of Porsche fourth model line will be more efficient than both the petrol-electric Cayenne and the V8 petrol engines expected to power it from launch. “The newly developed full parallel hybrid system will consist primarily of the battery unit positioned in the rear luggage compartment, the power electronics, and the hybrid module between the engine and transmission comprising an additional clutch and the electric motor,” says Porsche. “Depending on driving conditions, the hybrid module is able to disengage either the combustion engine or the electric motor, or combine both drive systems as one joint power unit. The Panamera, therefore, may be driven in a number of different modes ranging from all-electric drive absolutely free of emissions all the way to the sporting style of driving so typical of a Porsche. “Porsche’s fourth model series also boasts other striking features. The space available inside the car offers a brand-new experience of roominess. The two sporting and comfortable single seats at the rear will allow adults to relax in full comfort with surprisingly generous headroom.” Read more:Hybrid to join Panamera's V10All future modelsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chery Brabham Chrysler Chevrolet Cupra Citroen DS Dodge Fiat Ferrari Foton Ford Great Wall FPV Haval GWM Honda Holden Hummer HSV Infiniti Hyundai Jaguar Isuzu Kia Jeep Land Rover Lamborghini Lexus LDV Mahindra Lotus Mazda Maserati Mercedes-AMG McLaren MG Mercedes-Benz Mitsubishi Mini Opel Nissan Peugeot Pagani Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen Panamera pricing
