Future models - ZeekrZeekr Mix to rival Volkswagen ID.BuzzFuturistic all electric people mover offers 800V architecture, lounge-like seating for five6 Nov 2024 By MATT BROGAN ZEEKR has unveiled a new all-electric people mover known as Mix, a five-seat “capsule shaped” family hauler with swivelling front seats and a moveable centre console whose inspiration is drawn from the Tiangong Space Station.
While not yet confirmed for right-hand drive markets, the Zeekr Mix is a serious rival for the Volkswagen ID.Buzz with similar proportions – 4688mm in length, or 24mm less than the ID.Buzz – and a large 1480mm sliding door at each side.
Boasting a “hidden” B-pillar design, with ultra-high-strength steel pillars concealed within the sliding doors, the Mix features a low floor height for easier entry and exit, and ground clearance of just 165mm.
The rear seats offer integrated leg rests with footrests behind the front seats. All seating positions offer heating, massage, and ventilation functionality, joining a panoramic glass roof, refrigerated centre console, and 21-speaker Dolby Atmos surround sound system.
Further forward, the Zeekr Mix provides augmented reality head-up display, a 13.0-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 15.0-inch OLED infotainment array. Remote parking is standard, as are adaptive damping, matrix LED headlights, and a horizontal light bar reminiscent of that on the Zeekr 007 sedan.
Standard safety equipment is extensive, the Mix offering multiple LiDAR-, camera- and millimetre-wave radar-based driver assistance technologies including adaptive cruise control, AEB, blind spot monitoring, front and rear cross-traffic assist, lane keep assist, and both traffic light and traffic sign notifications.
Riding on Zeekr’s SEA-M underpinnings, the Mix features an 800V electrical system, single-motor system output of 310kW/440Nm, and the choice of 76kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) or 102kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) batteries.
CLTC driving range is quoted at 550km and “over 700km” respectively for the pair with a 10-80 per cent charge time of as little as 10.5 minutes. Both battery types offer Mix customers vehicle-to-load (V2L) provision.
Zeekr recently introduced its X small SUV to the Australian market and has plans to offer the 009 people mover before the end of the year. It is understood to be followed up by the 7X medium SUV sometime in 2025.
Like the newly announced Mix, it is not yet known whether Zeekr’s other models – the 007 sedan and 001 hatch – will be offered locally. Watch this space.
