2015 Geneva Motor Show, Switzerland

17/03/15The theme of this year's show was undoubtedly high-performance cars, with new models from major European brands including Audi, Porsche, Koenigsegg, Aston Martin, McLaren and Ferrari.

Audi uncovered its next-generation R8, now available in three variants – V10, V10 plus and e-tron – and although it features an evolutionary design, Audi's new supercar was still a crowd-pleaser.

Porsche showed off its two new hardcore models – the Cayman GT4, featuring the 3.8-litre flat six from the 911 Carrera S, and the 911 GT3 RS, the most powerful naturally aspirated 911 yet.

McLaren unveiled its hard-charging P1 GTR, a track-only hybrid hypercar, and its track-honed 675LT, while Ferrari returned serve with its 458 successor, the 488 GTB with a twin-turbo V8 engine.

With the Geneva show now finished, all eyes turn back to the United States as New York gears up for its motor show early next month.

02/03/15With only a matter of days before the Geneva motor show kicks off, the 2015 European auto extravaganza already looks to be a venerable supercar fest.

Audi is giving its next-generation R8 its public debut and the new supercar will be powered by the same V10 engine found in the Lamborghini Huracan.

McLaren is bringing not one, but two special-edition cars. The first is McLaren's fastest-ever production car, P1 GTR, which is a special track-only version of its hybrid hypercar, while the 675LT is a higher-tuned version of its 650S.

Not to be outdone, fellow British car-maker Aston Martin is also displaying two new models. The Vulcan will be a limited-edition track-honed V12-powered weapon, while the Vantage GT3 will represent the fastest road-going Vantage available.

Ferrari is bringing along the successor to the popular 458 Italia, and while the styling is evolutionary, the new 488 GTB will feature a monstrous 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that will give it enough grunt to hit a top speed in excess of 330km/h.

17/11/14One of the biggest motor shows on the planet, the International Geneva Motor Show has been showcasing the best in the automotive industry for over a century.

Often known as the place to show off exotic metal and unique supercars, the 2014 show saw the introduction of the next-generation Civic Type R from Honda, the M3/M4 rivalling Lexus RC F Sport and the European debut of the Nissan GT-R Nismo.

However, these were only appetisers.

Lamborghini finally unveiled the successor to its wildly popular Gallardo in the form of the all-new Huracan.

McLaren took the wraps off the 650S, the next progressive step for the brilliant 12C.

But the most talked about car at the show had to be the Koenigsegg One:1, a hypercar with a scarcely believable one metric horsepower per kilogram.
