New Alfa 147 Ducati Corse celebrates Aussie Casey Stoner's 2007 MotoGP world title
8 Jul 2008
ALFA Romeo, the official supplier to the Ducati MotoGP team, has launched a special-edition version of its entry-level 147 hatch to celebrate Australian Casey Stoner’s crowning as 2007 world champion, priced at $41,098.
Limited to just 20 examples nationally, the 147 Ducati Corse is Australia’s first Alfa model to be fitted with the Italian maker’s so-called Q2 front differential and comes with the most powerful diesel engine ever fitted to a 147, plus an electronically-adjustable accelerator pedal.
The exclusive 147 is powered by the new JTD-M version of Alfa’s Multijet turbo-diesel engine, which produces 127kW and is claimed to propel the Ducati-badged 147 to 100km/h in eight seconds and to a top speed of 215km/h.
Available in Etna Black, Ice White and Giulietta Red exterior paint colours, the Stoner 147 also gains unique 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/40-section tyres, “satin finish” door mirrors, red brake callipers, a rear spoiler and, inside, sports instruments, aluminium pedals and sports seats trimmed in black leather with red stitching.
