Alpina XB7 Manufaktur priced for Oz

Luxurious 457kW Alpina XB7 Manufaktur headed Down Under priced from $327,500

30 Aug 2024

ALPINA Automobiles Australia has announced local specification and pricing for its XB7 Manufaktur, the luxurious, high-performance BMW X7-based SUV now available to order from $327,500 plus on-road costs – a $62,600 increase over the previous-generation model.

For 2025, the Alpina XB7 Manufaktur adds special touches both inside and out of the cabin. The exterior is characterised by standard 23-inch Alpina Classic alloy wheels in a multi-spoke design, finished in high-gloss Aluminium Satin paint and coated in matte resin.

Satin Aluminium or Black Line exterior trim packs are available, altering the appearance of the badging, exhaust outlets, grille, and window framing. Both are offered in conjunction with Alpina Blue or Green II metallic paint or a choice BMW Individual metallic finishes.

Inside, the Satin Aluminium or Black Line exterior trim packs alter the colour of the shift paddles and steering wheel stitching, the XB7 Manufaktur further offers embossed head restraints, Manufaktur logos on the floor mats and a serialised build plaque.

Further, the seat panels and steering column are clad in black leather as an extension of the BMW Merino leather upholstery found throughout.

“Our goal was to enhance the XB7 with some striking and elegant details from the Alpina Manufaktur while retaining its original qualities to make the XB7 even more attractive” said XB7 product manager Thomas Hackspiel-Cornu.

Under the bonnet the 2025 Alpina XB7 Manufaktur features BMW’s 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine tuned to offer 457kW and 800Nm.

Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, the numbers are sufficient to accelerate the model from standstill to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds, and to 200km/h in 14.8.

Top speed is electronically capped at 290km/h, while fuel use is listed at an optimistic 12.8 litres per 100km.

Air suspension is fitted on both the front and rear axle with Alpina’s own damper tune creating what the Buchloe-based tuner says are balanced driving dynamics and ride comfort.

A 40mm change in ride height is available (and is speed dependent), resulting in a lower centre of gravity and subsequent changes in suspension geometry to provide “significant positive effect on driving dynamics”.

Reinforced struts increase body rigidity while electromechanical anti-roll bars and stiffer rear axle bushings reduce body roll substantially.

The Alpina XB7 Manufaktur is further offered with passive rear steering offering up to 2.3 degrees of assistance to benefit directional stability at high speeds. Three steering modes are available: Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

Finally, a high-performance brake package is now also part of the standard equipment list, the lightweight, multi-piece arrangement featuring perforated rotors and “special” brake pads to “ensure excellent braking performance”.

“With the Alpina XB7 Manufaktur, Alpina offers a highly bespoke and luxurious XB7 with fantastic details paired with unrivalled driving performance,” said Alpina Australia national sales manager Phil Jeffery.

Deliveries of the XB7 Manufaktur are expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025 when it will rival the likes of the Bentley Bentayga, Range Rover Autobiography, and Mercedes-Maybach GLS600.
