New models - Citroen - C5 - XPlug-in Citroen C5 X arrives Down UnderDirect order now available for Citroen C5 X PHEV Shine, priced from $73,990 plus ORCs30 May 2024 By MATT BROGAN CITROEN will offer the C5 X plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) for direct order in Australia.
Available in single Shine guise, and priced from $73,990 plus on-road costs, the Citroen C5 X Shine PHEV costs $16,000 more than the petrol-powered equivalent. Delivery times from order are estimated at around four to six months.
The model utilises a familiar 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder engine in combination with an 81kW electric motor to produce a total system output of 165kW and 360Nm. Power is delivered to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Power is stored in a 12.4kWh lithium-ion battery and can provide a claimed all-electric driving range of up to 60km. Combined cycle fuel consumption is listed at 6.0 litres per 100km (WLTP).
Battery charging is available via a Mode 2 charging cable with an AC capacity of up to 7.4kW. The battery may be replenished in just over three-and-a-half hours on this connection, or in just under six hours on a 2.3kW feed.
Otherwise, the C5 X PHEV shares its feature list with the petrol-powered model. Equipment highlights include a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.0-inch infotainment array with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity, DAB+ digital radio reception, proprietary satellite navigation, a panoramic sunroof, eight-way electric driver seat adjustability with memory, six-way electric passenger seat adjustability, massage function, and more.
Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go functionality, autonomous emergency braking with low light cyclist and pedestrian detection, automatic post and in-crash collision braking system, blind spot monitoring, driver monitoring, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.
All Citroen passenger models are backed by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty with included roadside assistance and capped-price servicing. Service intervals are set at 12 months or 20,000km, whichever comes first.
“We are pleased to introduce an electrified model to the Citroen Australia range,” said Citroen Australia managing director Kate Gillis.
“With Citroen’s commitment to comfort at the heart of the C5 X plug-in hybrid, this vehicle champions Citroen’s design ethos by offering customers tranquil electric driving.”
