New models - Ineos - QuartermasterIneos Grenadier Quartermaster chassis pricedDual-cab chassis version of Ineos Grenadier joins range, orders open from $102K plus ORCs18 Mar 2024 By MATT BROGAN INEOS Automotive has announced details of its five-seat, dual-cab-chassis version of the Grenadier this week, the Grenadier Quartermaster ‘ute’ now available to order locally from $102,000 plus on-road costs.
Aimed at specialist vehicle converters, agricultural purchasers and weekend adventurers, the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster was developed alongside the pick-up version of the off-roader and is said to offer class-leading capability and load-carrying versatility, with the “comfort, safety, refinement and features today’s drivers expect”.
The Grenadier Quartermaster cab-chassis shares the same 3227mm wheelbase as the pick-up model, making it 305mm longer than the Grenadier station wagon. The model features an exposed ladder frame behind the cabin, offering buyers and converters a wide range of body-building possibilities.
While it is unclear when the single-grade Grenadier Quartermaster cab-chassis will arrive Down Under, it has been confirmed that the model will retain the same 3500kg braked towing capacity offered elsewhere in the range. It will also feature the same solid beam axles, two-speed transfer case and trio of differential locks available elsewhere in the line-up.
The cab-chassis model will offer the same powertrain choices as the remainder of the Grenadier range. Choices include a BMW-sourced 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol developing 210kW and 450Nm or a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder diesel making 183kW and 550Nm.
Each is identically priced and is paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission sourced from ZF.
All Ineos Grenadier variants are built at the former Mercedes-Benz facility in Hambach, France.
“In the first year since the Grenadier launched, we have already seen a number of specialist conversions, particularly with emergency services such as fire, police and inshore rescue, so launching the Quartermaster Chassis Cab is a natural step that takes our off-road expertise into many commercial areas that need a class leading 4X4,” said Ineos Automotive commercial director George Ratcliffe.
“The Grenadier's body-on-frame construction already provides huge versatility for customisation, and we know from customer configurations that our vehicles are being used equally between commercial and leisure users.
“The 'blank canvas' Chassis Cab variant allows even greater versatility, from the basic tray back for agricultural use through recovery and emergency services to tourism, presenting an ideal platform for an overlanding camper.”
