New models - Land Rover - Discovery - LandmarkLandmark variant joins Land Rover Discovery rangeSpecial edition headlines refreshed line-up as Land Rover sharpens focus on family adventure3 Jul 2026 LAND ROVER has refreshed its Discovery Upper Large SUV range for 2027 with the introduction of a new Landmark special edition joining the flagship Tempest and entry-level S in a simplified three-model line-up.
Priced from $132,000 plus on-road costs, the Discovery Landmark lobs with individual styling, enhanced equipment and a new Tasman Blue exterior finish inspired by the original Discovery’s Clearwater Blue paint from 1989.
The revised line-up opens with the Discovery S from $117,000 + ORC, while the flagship Tempest continues at $147,000 + ORC.
Competitors include the Toyota LandCruiser 300 from $99,340 + ORC, Nissan Patrol from $96,540 + ORC and the Lexus GX 550 from $118,320 + ORC.
“(The) Discovery is designed for any occasion and any journey, whether it’s a family road trip or the daily school run, delivering confidence, comfort and capability on every drive,” said Land Rover head of Discovery product and services Joelle Taylor
“Building on a rich Discovery heritage, the Landmark Edition showcases the versatility that has long defined the nameplate.”
The Landmark edition introduces a range of model specific exterior details including mountain motif badging featured on the tread plates, B-pillars, centre console and puddle lamps, a nod to earlier Discovery models.
Graphite Atlas trim replaces the standard brightwork across the grille, side vents and Discovery lettering, while Carpathian Grey skid plates and unique 21-inch Dark Agate Grey alloy wheels complete the exterior package.
Inside, Landmark variants feature dark grey brushed aluminium trim, Tech Velour dashboard and door inserts, a sliding panoramic sunroof, and a refrigerated centre console as standard.
The Tempest variant introduced last year remains the premium model within the Discovery family and now offers Borasco Grey exterior duco alongside existing Varesine Blue and Carpathian Grey colours, with every Tempest finished in a factory-applied matte protective film.
Petra Copper exterior accents define the flagship model, highlighting the contrasting roof, side vents, Discovery badging, tow-eye covers, and 22-inch alloy wheels.
The interior offers a choice between Light Oyster or Caraway upholstery paired with Extended Windsor leather trim and contrast stitching.
Moving to the entry Discovery S model we find it retains seven-seat practicality, wireless smartphone charging, up to nine USB charging ports, and generous storage throughout the cabin.
Mechanically, the Discovery range remains unchanged with all variants powered by Land Rover’s D350 turbocharged 3.0-litre Ingenium six-cylinder diesel engine featuring mild-hybrid technology, driving all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Land Rover says the Discovery’s off-road capability continues to be a defining attribute.
Terrain Response 2 and All Terrain Progress Control are standard across the range, while a maximum wading depth of 900mm and a 3500kg braked towing capacity reinforce the Discovery’s credentials as a genuine adventure vehicle.
Advanced Tow Assist is also available to simplify trailer manoeuvring.
Land Rover has expanded its range of Discovery factory accessory packs tailored to different lifestyles with customers offered dedicated packages for dogs, cycling, beach trips, road touring, and snow adventures, with accessories ranging from portable rinse systems and roof-mounted bike carriers to roof boxes, electric cool bags, and ski carriers.
The refreshed range arrives amid ongoing speculation about Discovery’s future.
The Landmark name has previously been used on several Discovery run-out editions, prompting questions over whether the current-generation model – first launched in 2017 – is approaching the end of its lifecycle.
Land Rover has declined to comment on future product plans, although executives have previously confirmed Discovery will continue as a distinct model line positioned separately from the increasingly popular Defender.
And despite growing competition from newer luxury SUVs, the Disco continues to carve out a niche thanks to a combination of genuine off-road capability, seven-seat practicality and premium comfort, qualities Land Rover hopes the refreshed three-model line-up will continue to reinforce.
