Range Rover quietly releases full Velar pricingChoice as: Range Rover Velar customers face a tough decision, with 40 permanent variants initially on offer thanks to a wide range of powertrains and model grades. Velar on track for an early launch, all prices revealed for fourth Range Rover modelGalleryClick to see larger images 9 Jun 2017 UPDATED: 4:00PM 13/06/2017PRICING for the entire Range Rover Velar line-up has been unveiled with a whisper, which confirms that the full-time 40-variant range will be the biggest currently available in the Australian market – eclipsing the Ford Ranger's 37 offerings. When it was revealed at the Geneva motor show in March, the mid-size SUV had prices for three of its variants released, but a range-wide increase in specification levels that occurred since then has led to a small $650 price hike for all Velars. Buyers will be compensated for the extra cost with the addition of InControl technology, which allows users to connect with their Velar wirelessly for functions like vehicle status (fuel levels, location etc.) and navigation. Otherwise, standard equipment for each model grade remains as previously reported. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Australia product public relations manager James Scrimshaw has confirmed that the Velar will arrive a month earlier than expected, with the SUV now set to go on sale from November 1. Five engines – two petrol, three diesel – will be available from launch, with each paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Eight model grades will be offered for each powertrain, including standard, S, SE, HSE, R-Dynamic, R-Dynamic S, R-Dynamic SE and R-Dynamic HSE. The entry-level petrol – the Si4 – packs a 2.0-litre Ingenium turbocharged four-cylinder that punches out 184kW and 365Nm. Prices range between $70,950 before on-road costs (standard Si4) and $113,250 (Si4 R-Dynamic HSE). Meanwhile, the other petrol option is dubbed V6 S/C, which employs a 280kW/450Nm 3.0-litre supercharged V6. It is priced between $93,750 (standard V6 S/C) and $136,050 (V6 S/C D-Dynamic HSE) – the most expensive full-time variant. Opening the oil-burning line-up is the TD4 with its 132kW/430Nm turbo-diesel four-cylinder. A standard TD4 will set buyers back $71,500, while the TD4 R-Dynamic HSE commands a $113,850 pricetag. Customers can also opt for the mid-range SD4 and its 177kW/500Nm twin-turbo four-pot diesel – the first time this engine has been made available in a Land Rover product. Prices range between $80,950 (standard SD4) and $123,250 (SD4 R-Dynamic HSE). The torquiest mill in the Velar line-up is the SDV6, with outputs of 221kW and 700Nm from a turbo-diesel V6. A standard SDV6 costs $92,850, while the SDV6 R-Dynamic HSE has a $135,150 sticker price. Special First Edition versions of the V6 S/C and SDV6 will initially be on offer for a premium, with them now costing $169,150 and $168,250 respectively. Furthermore, the late arrival of a more powerful 2.0-litre Ingenium turbo-petrol four-pot with 221kW and 400Nm on tap has also been brought forward, with it now set to lob in January next year. This same unit was announced two months ago as the new entry-level powertrain for the facelifted Jaguar F-Type range, which goes on sale locally during the fourth quarter of this year. Additionally, the third petrol option is also expected to be offered in all eight full-time model grades, which would push the total number of Velar variants available to 48, or 50 if the limited-run V6 S/C and SDV6 First Edition pair are included. The Velar is closely related to the Jaguar F-Pace, with the Range Rover's entry-level Si4 undercutting its mechanical cousin by $3390 when in range-opening 20d Prestige form ($74,340). | 2017 Range Rover Velar pricing* Si4 (a) | $70,950 | Si4 S (a) | $82,050 | Si4 SE (a) | $90,950 | Si4 HSE (a) | $107,250 | Si4 R-Dynamic (a) | $76,950 | Si4 R-Dynamic S (a) | $88,050 | Si4 R-Dynamic SE (a) | $96,950 | Si4 R-Dynamic HSE (a) | $113,250 | V6 S/C (a) | $93,750 | V6 S/C S (a) | $104,850 | V6 S/C SE (a) | $113,750 | V6 S/C HSE (a) | $130,050 | V6 S/C R-Dynamic (a) | $99,750 | V6 S/C R-Dynamic S (a) | $110,850 | V6 S/C R-Dynamic SE (a) | $119,750 | V6 S/C R-Dynamic HSE (a) | $136,050 | V6 S/C First Edition (a) | $169,150 | TD4 (a) | $71,550 | TD4 S (a) | $82,650 | TD4 SE (a) | $91,550 | TD4 HSE (a) | $107,850 | TD4 R-Dynamic (a) | $77,550 | TD4 R-Dynamic S (a) | $88,650 | TD4 R-Dynamic SE (a) | $97,550 | TD4 R-Dynamic HSE (a) | $113,850 | SD4 (a) | $80,950 | SD4 S (a) | $92,050 | SD4 SE (a) | $100,950 | SD4 HSE (a) | $117,250 | SD4 R-Dynamic (a) | $86,950 | SD4 R-Dynamic S (a) | $98,050 | SD4 R-Dynamic SE (a) | $106,950 | SD4 R-Dynamic HSE (a) | $123,250 | SDV6 (a) | $92,850 | SDV6 S (a) | $103,950 | SDV6 SE (a) | $112,850 | SDV6 HSE (a) | $129,150 | SDV6 R-Dynamic (a) | $98,850 | SDV6 R-Dynamic S (a) | $109,950 | SDV6 R-Dynamic SE (a) | $118,850 | SDV6 R-Dynamic HSE (a) | $135,150 | SDV6 First Edition (a) | $168,250 |
