Maserati prices GranCabrio and GranTurismo for Oz

Pricing jumps by up to $120K for stylish new Maserati GranCabrio and GranTurismo duo

13 Mar 2024

MASERATI has priced its GranCabrio and GranTurismo duo for Australia this week, the Italian sports cars now offered from $475,000 and $375,000 respectively – an increase of up to $120,000 over the outgoing range.

GranTurismo models are due in Australian showrooms in the third quarter of this year (2024), the GranCabrio range to follow in quarter four. An all-electric model, dubbed GranTurismo Folgore, will arrive in 2025.

Two coupe variants, the GranTurismo Trofeo and Modena will be priced from $375,000 and $450,000 respectively, increases of $80,000 and $105,000 over previous-generation counterparts, the single-grade GranCabrio Trofeo convertible topping the range at $475,000, an increase of $120,000.

Maserati says the GranTurismo and GranCabrio combine the high performance typical of a sports car with comfort suitable for long distances, keeping with the model’s long-held ethos.

The pair are powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine producing 360kW and 600Nm in base form, 405kW and 650Nm in Trofeo specification, and 399kW and 650Nm in its convertible counterpart (GranCabrio Trofeo).

All run an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.

Four driver selectable modes – Comfort, Corsa, GT and Sport – are offered, alongside an ESC Off setting.

Likewise standard is adaptive air suspension, 380mm six-piston and 350mm four-piston disc brakes, 20-inch front and 21-inch rear alloy wheels, and a self-locking rear differential.

Inside, the Maserati twins feature the brand’s latest MIA (Maserati Intelligent Assistant) multimedia array combining infotainment, comfort, and other settings within a single touchscreen interface.

The central 12.3-inch touchscreen also hosts wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, controls for the vehicle’s head-up display, and its impressive 16-speaker/815-watt Sonus Faber audio system.

Climate control duties are governed by a separate 8.8-inch display, while instrumentation display arrives courtesy of a 12.2-inch full-colour cluster.

Hard buttons remain for key accessories and functions, including the gear selector.

Safety technology includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane centring assist and a 360-degree surround view camera system.

A full specification and feature list is expected ahead of the models’ local launch.

In a statement issued at the global reveal of the Maserati GranCabrio recently, the marque said, “The elegance of the Maserati GranCabrio can be perceived and appreciated even more from the exterior, when the soft top is open and the engine’s roar is all-encompassing”.

“The union with the road and landscape is an incomparable experience that can only be offered by the Spyder version of a car that has been the protagonist of a success story spanning more than 60 years – the convertible variant of Maserati’s first road-going sports car, the 3500 GT, was unveiled at the 1959 Geneva Motor Show.”
