MASERATI has revealed Australian pricing and specification for its large luxury Quattroporte sedan, with the range kicking off from $210,000 before on-roads for the base level Turbo Diesel model and topping out at $349,990 BOCs for the twin-turbo V8 GTS GranLusso.

The mid-life refresh for the model released in 2014 also introduces two new trim levels, slightly tweaked styling, a new infotainment system and additional driver assistance systems as standard.

The new trim levels, GranSport and GranLusso, are offered as additional variants on the Quattroporte and Quattroporte S variants, while the top-spec GTS – formerly a single variant – is also available in GranSport or GranLusso guise.

The base Turbo Diesel does not get the option of the additional trim levels and remains a single variant.

Pricing for the Turbo Diesel, Quattroporte and Quattroporte S remain unchanged, while the compulsory addition of the GranSport and GranLusso packages push the price of the GTS up $15,000 and $20,000, respectively.

The GranLusso package puts a greater emphasis on comfort and luxury, while the add-ons in the GranSport package are, as the name suggests, sports-focused.

Features in the GranLusso include a redesigned lower front fascia, side skirts and body-colour spoiler, 20-inch Mercurio rims, black brake callipers, silk fabric and Radica wood trim, power rear sunshade, heated rear seats, four-zone air-conditioning, front seat ventilation, and on the GTS rear door keyless entry and a Bowers and Wilkins sound system.

Extra kit included in the GranSport package includes redesigned centre and side air intakes and black piano spoiler, 21-inch Titano rims, red brake callipers, stainless steel sports pedals, sport steering wheel, gloss black interior finish, 12-way sports seats, dual cast braking system and Alcantara headlining.

The new driver assistance systems include adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane departure warning, forward collision warning with advanced brake assist, automated emergency braking and a surround view camera to compliment the existing reversing camera.

The redesigned dashboard features a new infotainment system that uses an 8.4-inch touchscreen that is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible, and all Quattroportes now come with an air quality sensor that prevents polluted air from entering the cabin.

To the end of September the Quattroporte has recorded 48 sales, ahead of rivals such as the Audi A8 (46) and Porsche Panamera (42), but behind segment leaders BMW 7 Series (220) and Mercedes-Benz S-Class (214).

Maserati is taking orders for the new Quattroporte, with deliveries commencing at the end of the year.
